Louisville Ballet breaths sigh of relief

The committee representing the 71 members of the Louisville Orchestra announced today that its members have agreed to play all of this seasons remaining events that are scheduled with the Louisville Ballet and Kentucky Opera, this irrespective of whether the Louisville Orchestra is still in business.

The seemingly generous proposition is ironic however given that the musicians recently struck down a proposition in contract negotiations that would have supported these organizations by recalculated overtime pay when the orchestra was playing for the ballet and opera.
