The results are in on New York City Ballet’s summer series at the SPAC, and they aren’t good. We’ll go with the numbers first, this year total attendance was 43,178 for 18 performances while the 2005 draw was 57,042 for 21 performances. These numbers show a drop in attendance of 12% per show. Over the week Oregon Ballet Theatre announced that it has completed its search for a new Executive Director. Jonathan M. The Akron Beacon Journal reported last week that the Ohio Ballet has canceled the rest of its season. The company was forced to cancel its Feburary shows earlier in the year when revenue fell short after a lackluster fall run. A local paper, the Asbury Park Press, reported on Sunday that Kirk Peterson will be the new Director of American Ballet Theater's 12 member studio company.
